Every 1% percent improvement counts

I recently uploaded two YouTube videos that are ‘product’ description videos for my Marc-Ka-Ching Kube™, definitely a long tail niche marketing product.

BEFORE I even posted the videos on my site, there were 16 views of the first video with NO effort at all. The second one is a ‘non-publicised’ video for people who buy the Marc-Ka-Ching Kube™ that IS public on YouTube.

Having people automatically view videos is pretty cool by itself, but more importantly what the video does for me is increase the visitor experience ON THE PAGE. A 21 second video increases the visitor experience by orders of magnitude.

Search engines such as Google love that. They know that if people stay on a page LONGER, it’s a BETTER PAGE = a higher ranking.

Bottom line, every 1 percent improvement counts because it adds up at the end of the year!

The 1% is that if he didn’t know, maybe you don’t either. It’s FREE for me to tell you and it’s priceless to you if you’re like me and own HUNDREDS of domain names!

Convert MORE VISITORS to BUYERS

I hear it all the time…

Even if I get people to my website, I can’t seem to get them to buy my product…

Even though there are several possible reasons for this, the #1 mistake people make is forgetting that visitors need to be INFORMED and EDUCATED to buy.

Let me give you an example.

I am a competitive squash player and one of the things I am focused on in preparation for the World Championships next month is RECOVERY. At 45 years of age, recovery is EVERYTHING.

If you can’t recover quickly enough, you’re stuffed for the next match and you’ve lost before even getting on the court. Of course if you can recover better and faster than your opponent, then you could WIN before even tying your shoelaces!

Interesting isn’t it?

So for an elite athlete, the motivation is RECOVERY and if you SPECIFICALLY SPEAK to that benefit and value, you’re going to convert more people.

Former Olympian Paulo Frietag explains “When you exercise strenuously, you get into an acidic state where lactic acid builds up in your bloodstream. That lactic acid build up gets deposited in your muscles hampering recovery and reducing your potential for performance following the original exercise (or competition). With that in mind, an ALKALINE diet and/or supplement will reduce lactic acid build up DURING as well as FOLLOWING the exercise so that recovery is quickened and performance enhanced.”

You know lactic acid build up – it’s that sore feeling in your muscles the day after or the day after the day after you’ve been to the gym or played a sport. It’s a tightness and soreness that mentally reduces your endurance and enthusiasm to play full-on. For many, it’s enough discomfort to prevent them from going back to the gym or picking a racquet for days or weeks!

An Olympian should know what works and what doesn’t. I can tell you without a doubt that increasing alkalinity (reducing acidity) makes a BIG difference. In my training for the World Championships, I have DOUBLED my training time, doing drills and playing for 2 hours/day instead of my regular 1 hour/day. With the reduction of lactic acid I have been able to maintain this regimen recovering faster even though I have put my body through TWICE THE EFFORT.

What’s the point and how can it help you get more visitors to buy from you?

I’ve just shown you with an example – EDUCATE and INFORM your audience WHY they should buy your product – FOCUS ON THE BENEFITS.

Once they are educated and informed, they will go ahead and click to buy either the Alkaline Cook Book or Acai Powder from Amazon Power.

It’s that easy.

If your clients are not elite athletes, it doesn’t matter – many achievers will associate themselves with them and will want to get their results. Alkalinity has many other benefits that are explained on the sales pages of both products…

The more SPECIFIC your approach, the higher the conversion from visitors to PAYING buyers.

If you’re wondering if this ‘story’ should be in your e-mail, blog or landing sales page, the answer is ‘yes’.

You can place it wherever you deem it most valuable – sometimes you need to get people to ‘click through’ to the sales page, in other instances your click throughs TO the sales page are sufficient, but your CONVERSIONS are low.

You know best where the BOOST needs to come from.

To get the most people to convert, you need to have a specific approach and value-proposition that caters to their particular needs.

Testimonials are only as good as the RESULTS

As an Exponential Marketing Strategist, I am often asked if testimonials are as powerful as people claim they are.

The answer is both yes and no.

Yes if they include RESULTS and no if they don’t.

If someone gives you a testimonial like “Marc is a great guy, he’s charismatic and really knows his stuff”. That’s really nice, but has limited value and influence even though it makes you feel really good.
However, if someone tells you something like this…

“Besides … I would like you & Marc to share in my happiness with the outcome I achieved from the … seminar I held with … Bank and NSW Dept of … I got 5 new clients (value $80,000) and 8 prospects (value $100,000).”

This is a much more powerful testimonial. As you’ve noticed, I took out the confidential information - because this is a REAL TESTIMONIAL. Even when information needs to be removed, it stills has MASSIVE impact.

The key is to first solicit the testimonials and then actually USE THEM. Most people don’t use them - they sit idle in someone’s filing cabinet or in an e-mail folder, never seeing the light of day.

So there you have it. Another 1% improvement that you can easily make today.
